Car sticker decals: simple yet extravagant
Car sticker decals, often known simply as decals, are one of the simplest ways of customizing your car. But don’t be fooled by the simplicity, as decals can be some of the most individual and creative ways of making your car stand out from the rest. Decals can be applied to almost any part of the car, and can be used to convey messages or simply accentuate the beauty of your custom vehicle.
One of the most common forms of car sticker is the windshield decal. Spread across the top of the windshield, this gives the perfect opportunity to share your message with the rest of the driving public. Often this will reflect a preference for a brand of car, though custom decals can say anything. Just remember to make the decal of a size appropriate to your windshield – not so wide that it won’t fit, and not so low that it will impede your ability to see out of the windshield.
Another inventive use of the sticker decal is pin-striping. Formerly the preserve of custom paint jobs, it is now possible to provide stylish pin-stripes via a well applied decal. This is a job that needs a steady hand and good eye, as a pin-stipe that is not straight will attract attention for the wrong reasons.
A new development in car stickers is the see-through or ‘vue-thru’ graphic. This is a decal that from the outside presents a solid graphic, yet from the inside is see-through. This is particularly suited to the rear windows of pick-ups, and is good for more complicated graphics as it is a large space. Another large space that allows room for more complicated decals is the hood, which is an extroverted way to show your creativity. As with all decals, you must prepare your surface carefully before application, and also measure before you start to make sure that the decal will fit in the area you have planned for it.
